These notes ©2018, Andrew Carnie. This version of the dance is essentially Dick Crum's version as retaught by Michael Ginsburg. The dance is a variation on a Četvorno Horo from the town of Elin Pelin. There is a different version of this dance taught by Daniela Ivanova.

Meter: 7/8 counted as SQQ
Formation: Open circle, hands down in V position or belt hold, leads to the R
Introduction: At the beginning of any musical phrase. The dance is leader called.

Part 1: (Na Mesto)

Not all versions of the dance include this step
Bar 1: Facing center, step on R to R (S), close L next to R with a bounce, (Q), bounce again  on both feet (Q)
Bar 2: Repeat bar 1 with opposite footwork and direction
Bars 3-8: repeat bars 1-2, three more times.

Part 2: (Za Igraj)

Bar 1: Facing R of center, step on R to R (S), hop on R (Q), cross L foot over R (Q)
Bar 2: Repeat bar 1
Bar 3: "Sovalka Step": facing center step on R to R and slightly back, L toe stays on the ground and the heel twizzles inwards (S), Step on L back next to R (Q), Cross R over L (Q)
Bar 4: Repeat bar 3 with opposite footwork and direction
Bar 5: repeat bar 3
Bars 6-10: repeat bars 1-5 with opposite footwork and direction.

Part 3: (Čukni)

Bar 1: Facing R of center, Click R foot next to L foot (or ankle) (S), hop on L, bringing R foot through forward low (Q), Step on R in LOD (Q)
Bar 2: Repeat bar 1 with opposite footwork
Bars 3-5: Repeat bars 3-5 of part 2 (i.e. 3 sovalka steps)
Bars 6-10: Repeat bars 1-5 with opposite footwork and direction

Part 4: (Bičkaj)

Bar 1: Facing Center, Kick R foot across in front of L, twisting body slightly to face RLOD (S), Step R in place next to L while facing center (Q), Step on L in place, turning to face LOD (Q)
Bar 2: Step  R, L quickly forward in LOD ("bloo-bloop") (S), Step R in LOD (Q), Step L in LOD (Q)
Bar 3: Repeat bar 2
Bars 4-6: Repeat bars 3-5 of part 2 (i.e. 3 sovalka steps)
Bars 7-12: Repeat bars 1-6, with opposite footwork and direction

Part 5: (Ižvurli, čukni)

Bar 1: Facing center, Kick R foot forward into center (S), Rock back out of center on R (Q), Rock forward on L into the center (Q)
Bar 2: Repeat bar 1
Bar 3: Stamp R foot across in front of L, twisting to face slightly L of center (S), Step on R next to left facing center (Q), stamp L in front of R, twisting to face slightly R of center (Q)
Bar 4: Step on L in place (&), stamp R in front of L (S), Leap on R to R (Q), facing center leap on L, crossing in front of L (Q)
Bars 5-7: repeat bars 3-5 of part 2 (i.e. 3 sovalka steps)
Bars 8-14: repeat bars 1-7: with opposite footwork and direction

Leader calls the steps.
